USP5 Disc

USP Method 5, or Paddle Over Disc is used for Transdermal Patch testing.

For the watch glass apparatus -the patch is placed face-up under the mesh, and the holder placed in the bottom of the vessel. The test is performed using the standard paddle and samples taken in the normal way

For the stainless steel mesh & holders - The mesh is secured on to the supporting assembly and placed release side up in the bottom of the vessel.

Whilst different assemblies are allowed and commonly used, APPFIVE-V35 meets the dimensions of the diagram in the USP.
